Rob is our team captain and the only NAFA judge in Florida
Express Delivery started in January of 2000 after we saw flyball
at the St. Jude Showcase of Dogs in Memphis TN. At that time there was no
flyball in TN, nor anywhere within about 4 hours of Memphis.
A group of interested people got together and Rob Bitler became
captain and team owner. Express Delivery's original line-up of
Haley, Skipper,
Bailey,
Sugar, and
Maddie ran for the first time at the Showcase of Dogs in October,
2001. Bailey, Sugar and Maddie ran through their retirement with
Fetchin' Frenzi in Memphis,
TN when Rob Bitler and Express Delivery relocated. Before moving to Florida, Express Delivery and our friends
Howard and Danie from the Alabama Slammers helped start four more teams in TN.
Before it was done, there were teams in Memphis, Chattanooga, Clarkesville, and
Nashville.
In August of 2003, Rob moved to FL and started the team again
down there. For the next two years the team slowly formed and grew. Many dogs
came and went until we found a group that was committed to each other and to the
sport of flyball. Rob also found his wife, Juli through Florida flyball and
they were married on January 27, 2007.
The team trained for several years at
Best Paw Forward in Sanford,
FL, however we said a sad goodbye in 2008 when the building closed and the
training center relocated to Osteen. The flyball team is currently
practicing at a fenced training location on the Seminole/Lake county lines.
We still offer reduced rates to Best Paw Forward graduates and current students. We allow all dogs to come out and practice as long as they are very well
socialized, have a solid recall and sit, are in good physical condition, and
their owners want to have fun and be a part of a great group of people.
We look forward to a long career of flyball racing in Florida
with some of the best teams in the country.
